Prepare Your Application

Important Information Before Applying for Your Passport in Trinidad and Tobago

Get prepared with these essential tips and requirements to make your passport application in Trinidad and Tobago as smooth as possible.

To be eligible for a Trinidad and Tobago passport, applicants must be citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. This can be by birth, descent, registration, or naturalization.

Applicants need to provide a completed application form, proof of citizenship (such as a birth certificate or citizenship certificate), a valid photo ID (such as a driver's license or national ID card), and two passport-sized photos.

The passport is valid for 5 years for minors (under 16 years of age) and 10 years for adults.

The standard processing time is approximately 3 to 4 weeks, as provided by the Immigration Division of Trinidad and Tobago.

Expedited processing is available for an additional fee and can reduce the processing time to about 1 to 2 weeks.

The application fee for an adult passport is TTD 250, and for a minor passport, it is TTD 150.

Common rejection reasons include incomplete application forms, insufficient proof of citizenship, poor-quality photographs, and discrepancies in personal information.
